STUDENT SERVICES

We have a
store
that is open to the public and has a variety of products related to health,
relaxation, massage, and bodywork. Although our store carries a large
assortment of items, we cannot carry everything. However, we can special order
almost anything and we will match if not beat any competitor’s prices. Some of
the items we carry include required and recommended textbooks, massage tables,
massage chairs, stools, neck pillows, aromatherapy products, thermal products,
compact discs, books, body therapy tools, videos, anatomical charts, massage
oils, gels, creams, bath salts, anatomy and physiology flash cards, polo shirts
and more.
Job Opportunity
Board (JOB)
Although we
cannot guarantee employment, a board with a list of employment opportunities is
located near the front office. This board serves as an essential source of
information for students, graduates, and licensed massage therapists.
Tutoring

We have a variety of instructors available for
tutoring for the anatomy and physiology class as well as the massage theory and
practice class. Every tutor has either taught or graduated from HAI and many
have taught their own Ohio State Medical Board review class. A list of
available tutors is posted on the student services board. Each tutor sets their
own price.
Library

Our library
includes a variety of learning resource materials including books, reference materials, videos, magazines, video viewing
equipment, skeletal bones, models of internal organs and muscles and computers with Internet access. Students who use the computer
are required to sign in and out at the front desk. Books can be checked out at
the front desk for a period of two weeks. Reference books may be used within
the school grounds.
Newsletter
Healing Arts Institute distributes an informative school newsletter to all of its current students each month. The newsletter includes
information on upcoming events, academic and school information, continuing education
seminars, employment opportunities, massage therapy and bodywork-related news,
and our schedule of Community Classes.
Placement Assistance
Graduate
surveys are sent out to our graduates after they take the Ohio state board
examination. These surveys give graduates the opportunity to let us know
where they are working and what areas in which they specialize so we can send
referrals to them. Throughout the year, the school is contacted by various
organizations, businesses, health care providers, and individuals who are looking
for qualified massage therapists. We
often refer such requests by using our list of graduates. Employment
opportunities are also listed on the Job Opportunity Board located at the
Institute. A yearly Career Fair is held to orient students and graduates to
employment, networking, and career opportunities.
Student Advising
Students are
encouraged to speak with their instructors, the Dean of Students, or the Director
if they are having any problems or have any questions throughout the program.
At mid-term of each quarter, if a student is receiving below 75%, the Dean of
Students speaks with him or her about solutions for improving the student’s
grade.
Student Lounge
Students are
welcome to use our student lounge. It is
equipped with a refrigerator, microwave ovens, a vending machine, a toaster,
coffee makers, a sink, tables, and chairs.
